http://cgit.openembedded.org/openembedded-core/commit/?id=8230f873921d5c16106e3ebf57053a646bc6ad78 introduced using "bigint", wonder if we need to build some supporting perl packages? Mihail, can you try installing perl-Math-BigInt on the fedora 23 machine? My mistake, perl-bignum. I *think* that replacing "use bigint" with "use Math::BigInt ':constant'" will have the same effect but work out of the box on F23 without requiring perl-bignum to be installed (it isn't by default). Armin, I literally know no perl, can you verify this? Ross, I don't know perl either. I will d/l F23 and give is shot. (In reply to comment #3) > My mistake, perl-bignum. This was already installed. Also had installed before perl-Math-BigInt-GMP perl-Math-BigInt-FastCalc and perl-Math-BigInt, just in case. Neither of these did the trick. A friend who uses F23 hit this and reports that installing perl-bignum fixed the problem. Mihail, after installing perl-bignum and rebuilding perl did it fail in exactly the same way, or differently? I've had reports that openssl-native still fails to link correctly after installing perl-bignum but the failure is unrelated to this. Just finished testing on a fresh fedora23 machine. Perl-bignum does indeed fix this build error, once I cleared the cache of openssl-native; as mentioned by Ross above, it was still linking incorectly. Patch on the list to add a sanity check when building openssl. Hi, What's the workaround to clear the link failure ? Thank you. make[4]: Entering directory '/production/factory/poky/build/tmp/work/x86_64-linux/openssl-native/1.0.2d-r0/openssl-1.0.2d' | /usr/bin/ld: libcrypto.a(sha256-x86_64.o): relocation R_X86_64_PC32 against undefined symbol `OPENSSL_ia32cap_P' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC | /usr/bin/ld: final link failed: Bad value | collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status | Makefile.shared:169: recipe for target 'link_a.gnu' failed The bignum warning is merged as of 2f9a2fbc46aa435a0a7f7662bb62029ac714f25a. samset: can you still replicate the link failure? Is that with master or jethro? Closing, no further reports of openssl-native failing on F23. Verified on 3d2c0f5902cacf9d8544bf263b51ef0dd1a7218c |
