Description Yunming Shi 2015-10-29 08:24:01 UTC
where can I download the git2_git*tar.gz for Yocto 1.2 ?
git2_git.gnome.org.gtk-doc-stub.tar.gz
git2_git.profusion.mobi.kmod.git.tar.gz
git2_git.yoctoproject.org.prelink-cross.git.tar.gz
git2_github.com.philb.update-rc.d.git.tar.gz

My compiling environment is offline, so I need to download the packages myself. I'm not familiar with all these git2_git* packages. Could anyone tell me where to get them ? thanks!

If you wish you can download these from:

http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/mirror/sources/

However there is a prescribed method for downloading files for offline usage - you do need to set up the build system on another machine that does have internet access, although you don't need to run a full build there. On that machine, set BB_GENERATE_MIRROR_TARBALLS = "1" and then run:

   bitbake -c fetchall <imagename>

Now I just want to download the git2_git*tar.gz and I cannot find them on http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/mirror/sources/

Can I get a more specific URL? Thank you!

I'm also confused what are they for ? The git2_git tarballs doesn't look like opensource.
Comment 4 Paul Eggleton 2015-10-30 08:03:51 UTC
The files are right there - in fact you need only paste the filenames on the end of http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/mirror/sources/ to get a URL that works. As I stated earlier though grabbing all these files by hand isn't the recommended way to set up an offline source mirror, there is a much better (and easier) process for doing that.

These are mirror tarballs that our fetcher creates in order to make the fetch process for recipes that would otherwise fetch from a git repository easier from behind a proxy - the fetcher tries to grab the tarball first from the specified premirror(s) and if it isn't available it will then go directly to the specified git repository.

Please don't reopen this bug. I'm more than happy to help here (or better via the mailing list), but this is not a bug or an enhancement as stated so far.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm just starting out with Bugzilla, so I don't know where to discuss it when I have a usage problems instead of a bug. Is there any other web sites? I tried to find it on the official website before.

General discussion is on the yocto mailing list:
