Description Belen Barros Pena 2016-01-08 15:19:46 UTC
The list of packages provided for image customisation does not currently show package groups. Dealing with package groups would have added too much complexity to the version 1 of image customisation.

Unfortunately, we do display package groups in the package lists we provide in the build history information. This effectively means there is a mismatch between the number of packages reported as installed in an image by the build information (packages + package groups), and the number of packages reported as installed in an image by the image customisation functionality (packages only without the package groups).

This mismatch would be very confusing to users, and must be handled. The easiest way of solving it is reporting the package groups separately from all other packages in the build history data.

As part of the discussion on bug 8925 we have settled for a different approach: displaying package groups in the image customisation package list.
