For real ppc platform -- mpc8315e-rdb, the same case could pass with RC2 build. We have no image for RC1 build and will check the result with gold build. thanks for the update. This (partially) confirms my feeling that this is related to the limitation(s) of qemuppc. rechecking with gold is definitely a good idea.
