Description California Sullivan 2016-04-26 21:16:41 UTC
Currently we only get the install prompt on the last console=ttyXYZ specified on the kernel command line, making it appear to hang if you happen to not be looking though the correct one. I'm not sure how feasible it is, but it would be nice if the prompt was available on all consoles specified.

This functionality has been added.

I closed the wrong bug. My bad.
Comment 3 California Sullivan 2016-09-12 23:40:12 UTC
The 4.8 kernel somehow changes which console gets the install prompt.

E.g., on the MinnowBoard Turbot, using a core-image-sato with intel-corei7-64 MACHINE, ttyS0 is always preferred no matter what order the consoles are defined.

In my opinion, this makes the need of this enhancement greater.

Hongxu, Do you think this is something that we should fix for the installer in 3.3?
