Description Joshua Lock 2016-06-16 11:10:36 UTC
meta-swupd is increasingly complex and manual testing of long-running processes is error prone.

Define and develop automated tests for meta-swupd to test:
* update artefact generation
* update artefact consumption
* swupdimage composed images
Comment 1 Joshua Lock 2016-08-10 12:27:42 UTC
We should also be sure to test when the common swupd related configuration variables aren't set, for example swupd master has been broken for some time if the SWUPD_BUNDLES variable was not set.

We should test set and unset versions of:
* SWUPD_BUNDLES
* BUNDLE_FEATURES
* SWUPD_IMAGES

https://github.com/intel/intel-iot-refkit/blob/master/meta-refkit-core/lib/oeqa/selftest/systemupdate/systemupdatebase.py could be used as base for the selftest.

See https://github.com/intel/intel-iot-refkit/blob/master/meta-refkit-core/lib/oeqa/selftest/cases/refkit_ostree.py for how files get served via HTTP. Might be worth moving the common code for that to selftest/systemupdate.

Upstream swupd has changed a lot and integration with the Yocto Project would be tricky and need rework to the layer. Closing this as obsolete since any new integration would need rework and have its own issues.
