No other layers or custom config (MACHINE = "intel-corei7-64").

Preconditions/Environment:
-------------------------
Platform : Intel Saddle Brook Rev B, TYPICAL (H77508-200) CRB

Build Configuration:
-------------------------
BB_VERSION        = "1.30.0"

DISTRO            = "poky"

meta-intel = "krogoth:b8c199201ffe026485a14e1fcfc398e2b3551512"

Problem:
--------
I have followed Release Notes at https://www.yoctoproject.org/downloads/bsps/krogoth21/saddle-brook-skylake and build core-image-sato for Skylake-H.

After I flash bootable image to USB stick and try to boot on Intel Saddle Brook CRB.
The board hangs at Yocto project screen forever. There are no keyboard event responses (Num Lock / Caps Lock).

Triggering Action/Cause
-----------------------
- Follow "Release Notes" at https://www.yoctoproject.org/downloads/bsps/krogoth21/saddle-brook-skylake
- Build Yocto core-image-sato (MACHINE = "intel-corei7-64")
- Prepare bootable USB stick with "tmp/deploy/images/intel-corei7-64/core-image-sato-intel-corei7-64.hddimg"
- Insert bootable USB stick in Intel Saddle Brook Rev B, TYPICAL (H77508-200) CRB4
- Power ON
- You will see "Yocto" project screen with boot status (horizontal bar growing up to show status).
- After few seconds the board stops responding the keyboard events (Num Lock/ Caps Lock) and hangs forever.

Expectation
-----------
- Yocto bootable image shall boot to OS normally.

Actual Result
-------------
- It hangs at "Yocto" project screen forever.

Reproducibility
---------------
10/10

Hi Kartikey,

May I know what is the BIOS version that used by your platform?
As I know, if the BIOS version is earlier than "SKLSDBK1.R00.G006" will encounter the issue you mentioned here.

To resolve this issue you may need to flash the latest BIOS on your platform.

Thanks,
Chun Weng.

kartikey: Can you reply to Rebecca

Hi Chun Weng / Rebecca,

The BIOS version used on platform was SKLSDBK1.R00.G006. My team member had already flashed it as per Krogoth Release Note.

After I read your comments, I did following steps:
(1) Default all BIOS settings - Krogoth Yocto image doesn't boot to OS.
(2) Flash the same BIOS again - Krogoth Yocto image boot to OS successfully.

I am not sure what was wrong but now the core-image-sato-intel-corei7-64.hddimg is successfully booting.

Kartikey has done flashing the correct BIOS and successfully booted up Saddle Brook with the image.

No changes required from BSP perspective and no document change. BIOS version has been communicated in Saddle Brook BSP download page.
