Minor missing detail - this is with SDK_EXT_TYPE = "minimal". grabbing so I can build knowledge :) Moving to M3 moving to m4 Moving to Paul I am able to see this error in rocko release with full e-SDK Steps: ===== $ wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/yocto/yocto/yocto-2.4/poky-rocko-18.0.0.tar.bz2 $ tar xvf poky-rocko-18.0.0.tar.bz2 $ cd poky-rocko-18.0.0 $ source oe-init-build-env $ bitbake core-image-minimal -c do_populate_sdk_ext (publish eSDK over http ) $ oe-publish-sdk tmp/deploy/sdk/poky-glibc-x86_64-core-image-minimal-i586-toolchain-ext-2.4.sh ~/sdk/update/ $ cd ~/sdk $ python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8090 (Install eSDK from installer) $ tmp/deploy/sdk/poky-glibc-x86_64-core-image-minimal-i586-toolchain-ext-2.4.sh -p -y -d ~/sdk/sdk-1 $ . ~/sdk/sdk-1/environment-setup-i586-poky-linux (Update SDK with broken link) $ devtool sdk-update http://mylocal (Build and publish new eSDK ) Follow above steps till publish with change ( ex - example.bb ) (Update SDK with proper link ) $ cd ~/sdk/sdk-1 $ . environment-setup-i586-poky-linux $ devtool sdk-update http://myip:8090/update Observed Behaviour: ================== ERROR: Preparation failed: Nothing to do. Use 'bitbake world' to build everything, or run 'bitbake --help' for usage information. Expected Behaviour: ================== sdk update should be success (In reply to comment #6) > I am able to see this error in rocko release with full e-SDK > > Steps: > ===== > > $ wget > http://mirrors.kernel.org/yocto/yocto/yocto-2.4/poky-rocko-18.0.0.tar.bz2 > $ tar xvf poky-rocko-18.0.0.tar.bz2 > $ cd poky-rocko-18.0.0 > $ source oe-init-build-env > $ bitbake core-image-minimal -c do_populate_sdk_ext > > (publish eSDK over http ) > $ oe-publish-sdk > tmp/deploy/sdk/poky-glibc-x86_64-core-image-minimal-i586-toolchain-ext-2.4. > sh ~/sdk/update/ > $ cd ~/sdk > $ python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8090 > > (Install eSDK from installer) > $ > tmp/deploy/sdk/poky-glibc-x86_64-core-image-minimal-i586-toolchain-ext-2.4. > sh -p -y -d ~/sdk/sdk-1 > $ . ~/sdk/sdk-1/environment-setup-i586-poky-linux > > (Update SDK with broken link) > $ devtool sdk-update http://mylocal > > > (Build and publish new eSDK ) > Follow above steps till publish with change ( ex - example.bb ) > > (Update SDK with proper link ) > $ cd ~/sdk/sdk-1 > $ . environment-setup-i586-poky-linux > $ devtool sdk-update http://myip:8090/update > > Observed Behaviour: > ================== > > ERROR: Preparation failed: > Nothing to do.
