I built an core-image-base eSDK targeting qemux86. eSDK has SDK_UPDATE_URL set and oe-publish-sdk has been run $ bitbake core-image-base -c populate_sdk_ext $ oe-publish-sdk tmp/deploy/sdk/poky-glibc-x86_64-core-image-base-i586-toolchain-ext-2.2.sh /path/to/esdk/update Observed behavior ================= $ wget poky-glibc-x86_64-core-image-base-i586-toolchain-ext-2.2.sh http://.... $ ./poky-glibc-x86_64-core-image-base-i586-toolchain-ext-2.2.sh -d /path/to/esdk $ /path/to/esdk/environment-setup-i586-poky-linux SDK environment now set up; additionally you may now run devtool to perform development tasks. Run devtool --help for further details. $ devtool sdk-update Cloning into 'layers'... Checking connectivity... done. NOTE: Preparing build system... (This may take some time.) ERROR: Preparation failed: Nothing to do. Use 'bitbake world' to build everything, or run 'bitbake --help' for usage information. Expected behavior ================= Install eSDK and set up environment as above $ devtool sdk-update Your eSDK is up-to-date (or some similar message)
Minor missing detail - this is with SDK_EXT_TYPE = "minimal".
grabbing so I can build knowledge :)

Still worth doing when we have the people available. -- YP bug review.
