Description Øyvind Kolås 2011-06-29 07:34:33 UTC
The following output was spewed when trying to build
------------------------------------
NOTE: Running task 1138 of 1346 (ID: 129, virtual:nativedata/poky/poky/meta/recipes-devtools/qemu/qemu_0.14.0.bb, do_configure)
ERROR: 'virtual:nativedata/poky/poky/meta/recipes-devtools/qemu/qemu_0.14.0.bb' failed
NOTE: package qemu-native-0.14.0-r2: task do_configure: Started
ERROR: Logfile of failure stored in: /data/poky/poky/build/tmp/work/x86_64-linux/qemu-native-0.14.0-r2/temp/log.do_configure.6500
Log data follows:
| You need libGL.so and libGLU.so to exist in your library path and the development headers for SDL installed to build qemu-native.
| Ubuntu package names are: libgl1-mesa-dev, libglu1-mesa-dev and libsdl1.2-dev
| ERROR: Function 'do_configure' failed (see /data/poky/poky/build/tmp/work/x86_64-linux/qemu-native-0.14.0-r2/temp/log.do_configure.6500 for further information)
| ERROR: Function 'do_configure' failed (see /data/poky/poky/build/tmp/work/x86_64-linux/qemu-native-0.14.0-r2/temp/log.do_configure.6500 for further information)
NOTE: package qemu-native-0.14.0-r2: task do_configure: Failed
ERROR: Task 129 (virtual:nativedata/poky/poky/meta/recipes-devtools/qemu/qemu_0.14.0.bb, do_configure) failed with exit code '1'
----------------------------------------

The checked for libraries do exist in:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGLU.so

adding symlinks in /usr/lib (or /usr/lib64) works as workarounds for the issue.
Comment 1 Edwin Zhai 2011-06-29 18:33:39 UTC
Ubuntu or Debian? Which version do you use? Ubuntu 10.10 works fine for me.

In general, distribution should link its specific libGL.so under /usr/lib...

Thanks,
edwin
Comment 2 Øyvind Kolås 2011-06-30 01:51:23 UTC
This was with debian unstable.
Comment 3 Paul Eggleton 2011-07-05 02:42:49 UTC
I think pkg-config may be usable to resolve this - IIRC it reports the correct path on Debian unstable.
Comment 4 Paul Eggleton 2011-07-05 03:02:00 UTC
Discussed this with Øyvind, looks like pkg-config can indeed be used to check for the presence of GL (pkg-config --exists gl) on Debian unstable. It might be possible that some systems do not have pkg-config files for gl though so I would suggest adding this check to the existing ones rather than replacing them.
Comment 5 Paul Eggleton 2011-08-10 05:00:28 UTC
Seems to me this might have been fixed already with oe-core commit ced947e989dfbca8055fe57e14207cb6f1357430.
Comment 6 Edwin Zhai 2011-08-11 00:11:45 UTC
As Paul mentioned, it's got fixed in poky master(e154e51011f54e2328fe55fb7e66a537757e2f68)
