I disagree. If the driver has a difference license then the packaging should make that clear, so the license manifest can be used to verify license compliance. I've had a quick look at libdrm: what pieces are GPL? Oh right, the header. How strange. [10:34:19] <+airlied> the uapi files shoild have always had their own licenses [10:34:48] <+airlied> internal headers arent the problem here [10:37:35] <pq> the SPDX says "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note", is the Linux-syscall-note that makes the header not taint its users with GPL? [10:45:04] <+airlied> pq: ah yeah syscall exception That one header file isn't really GPL in the context it is being used in. I did not know the license details, thank you. |
Created attachment 4538 [details] libdrm: disable etnaviv by default Hello, I realized that the etnaviv in libdrm has a GPL license, it seems better to set it as disable by default, but I would like to hear your opinion.
