We can't fix this - the only thing we can do is provide instructions on how to install a newer Python version. I thought that we provided a python bundle that could be used? Can this be verified with the python in http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/releases/miscsupport/ Last I checked this was not enough, we assume you have git installed for example, which is not available on CentOS 5.x out of the box. The easiest option is to use EPEL: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL EPEL works fine if you only want Python and the core libraries. It will not help if the user wants to run Hob. Yes, that is worth noting, however that is not what this bug report is about though. I believe we already provide instructions on how to get newer Python on CentOS 5.x so I'm marking this as WONTFIX. |
