Fixed in my sgarman/denzil-next branches as of: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky-contrib/commit/?h=sgarman/denzil-next&id=37e0863db3c613bc9d74f435551072afb500f9c4 Fixed in oe-core and poky denzil as of: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?h=denzil&id=2ccb03f9b71db3bace4e60fafafcc2c80bd8b48f |
Created attachment 985 [details] syslog.conf I understand this was fixed. I reproduced it with branch:poky-contrib commit: sgarman/denzil-next-pull4 As per decisions in mail "New workflow for bugs targeted to previous builds" I am opening a new bug under 1.2.2 version as the original bug is under 1.3 . Original bug text: Currently the syslog.conf file contains tabs / spaces, within the selector field. (current syslog.conf attached). On LSB images (afaik), where sysklogd is used, syslog is not creating /var/log/messages and, on restart, syslog reports errors of unknown facilities or priorities (e.g. noone, noice, new). Tabs or spaces should be used in syslog.conf only when separating selectors from actions. From sysklogd's syslog.conf.5 man page: """ Every rule consists of two fields, a _selector_ field and an _action_ field. These two fields are separated by one or more spaces or tabs. The selector field specifies a pattern of facilities and priorities belonging to the specified action. [...] The selector field consists of two parts, a _facility_ and a _priority_, separated by a period (``.''). """
