I suspect this is a not enough ram issue. Try preparing an image rather than a live image.

How much ram on this system?
Comment 2 Nitin Kamble 2013-04-03 23:43:01 UTC
My crownbay system is giving error that this image is not bootable. Also this issue is not expected as last week as well as this week my testing for crownbay bsp for core-image-sato is working as expected.

Today I tried building a sato-sdk image for crownbay-noemgd BSP and dding it to a USB key and try booting from it. And I am seeing same "boot error"

so looks like crownbay BIOS does not support booting larger images.
Comment 4 Tom Zanussi 2013-04-04 19:29:50 UTC
Does a non-sdk image work?

Usually for the larger (sdk) images you need to use the instructions in README.hardware that start with 'If the device fails to boot with "Boot error" displayed, or apparently...'

Thanks Tom,
Now I am trying the the mkdiskimage method.
Comment 6 Nitin Kamble 2013-04-04 21:51:12 UTC
For me after creating the USB flash disk with the mkdiskimage method. The same image is booting fine to X.

Alexandru Georgescu,
So, looks like for your setup the USB creation may not be correct. Please follow this readme for the mkdiskimage method: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/tree/README.hardware
And let me know how it goes?

Thanks,
Nitin

Hi Nintin,
I am testing the crownbay for some time now, and the dd method worked just fine. The thing is that on the last RC2 build, the image had some problems on booting even after install, see https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4159 .

I will try again tomorrow with the new RC3 build: meta-intel:3de2325133eb581c5c8d66133821ea5a801cf8ae and inform you. I have a feeling that the bug will dissapear.

Just tested with the RC3 build. It boots in live mode!
