Can you please elaborate on the failure mode?

What does "unable to do that" mean? Is the button not visible? Is it not active? Does it depress and return as expected, but the video doesn't stop? Does the application crash?

Why can't start resume playing? Is it because stop fails in some way as described above?

Please provide explicit details on the failure scenario.

Ross, can you help with this?
Comment 3 Razvan Ionescu 2013-09-17 06:27:01 UTC
The button(s) do(es) not appear, at all.
While playing, the user can see only the video.
There is just the X button visible I can use to close the window.
I pressed some keys also without success as: space, esc, P (pause), F (fullscreen - on/off), enter. But w/o success. None of these keys react.

The sample video player is *dismal* and the revised Sato plans include throwing it away. Not showing the controls is actually a good situation as it means the hardware decoding is working.
Comment 5 Ross Burton 2013-09-25 10:51:44 UTC
As part of the rewrite it should also use playbin correctly, i.e. take the sink from the playbin and not tell the playbin what sink to use (as different pipelines need different sinks).
