tree/branch: poky/1.1_M1 commit: fc55b224caa3eeac4abda099ec9ed505db59fb28 image location: all qemux86/x86-64 images for 1.1_M1 RC1 http://autobuilder03.jf.intel.com/nightly/20110520-1/machines/qemu With Yocto 1.1 M1 RC1, physical keyboard could not work in qemux86/x86-64 target. Meanwhile mouse could work. Furthermore, if we start x11vnc in qemu target and use vncviewer to connect the target, keyboard could work in vnc port. So it seems there is some configure missing for keyboard.
The root cause is that: in the new xserver 1.10, the hotplug is enabled by default. Thus the legacy kdb driver is disabled. meanwhile the hotplug requires the keyboard ti use evdev driver, which is missing in the xorg.conf so add the entry of evdev keyboard in xorg.conf will fix this issue: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "evdev" Option "CoreKeyboard" Option "Device" "/dev/input/by-path/platform-i8042-serio-0-event-kbd" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "evdev" Option "XkbLayout" "us" EndSection The patch is sent out.
