We landed DNF within the Yocto 2.3 timeframe as part of our effort to move the userspace to Python3 by default. Unfortunately there wasn't time to complete this effort and the RPM4 & DNF we currently build are using Python2.

We should move all of these components to Python3 in the 2.4 cycle.
