Patch Series created without a cover letter are named using either the first 30 characters in patch #1 plus the remaining patches number, or the patch name for one-patch-series. However, if for any reason the Subject in patch #1 includes the patch number/order as prefix (for example: [1/2]), this is inappropriately included in the Series name. A better naming should remove the number/order prefix from the Series name.

Patch v2 sent to the mailing list can be viewed in: https://lists.yoctoproject.org/pipermail/yocto/2017-April/035696.html This change makes all of the prefixes that may be present at the first patch subject to be dropped for the series naming.
I submitted a version 3 that omits the number/order prefix when naming a series, without changing any other existing prefix, since this may be needed to identify the patch as related to a git branch other than master (as required in bug 10715). Another patch version (v5) submitted to use group naming instead of referencing by integer and to fix the argument formatting in re.sub function can be viewed at: https://lists.yoctoproject.org/pipermail/yocto/2017-May/035956.html
