Create a meta-alexa layer that includes the Alexa voice activated personal assistant service and a demo that shows it in action. Something like "Alexa, how do I ... ?". This is called and Alexa skill
Assigning to Cal who will be implementing. He will provide estimate of milestone and person-days.
Created a basic layer here: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-alexa-demo/ This layer is able to add a simple Alexa client to a Yocto Project built image. It depends on openembedded-core, meta-oe, meta-python, and meta-multimedia.
Bug was closed as it was assumed to be referring the meta-alexa layer. Re-opening as it actually refers to a more complete demo using that layer. Assigning to Matt Hansen who is leading the demo work.
meta-alexa layer still needs to be upstreamed, Cal have you submitted a pull-request for the layer? Do we need a separate bugzilla for that issue?
The layer is available publicly here: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/meta-alexa-demo/
Cal, Can we change the name of this layer to "meta-alexapi" as it is really a build layer for the AlexaPi github repo. Then my team can add a layer that will add additional functionality for a demo (or demos). This way someone can just use AlexaPi for their own demos without having to use our demo layer. Does that make sense to you?
This will not be Open Sourced until SDL and IP Plan have been completed. Currently working with OTC SDL team for higher level YP which will feed into this.
Will not open source this. Closing bug.
