the kernel module r8723bs_4.4.1-4.10.0-r0_xc7346.ipk contains /lib/modules/4.8.0/kernel/drivers/staging/rtl8723bs/r8723bs.ko and not the driver for kernel 4.10

opkg install kernel-module-r8723bs

Package kernel-module-r8723bs (git24+4eb60fe-r5) installed in root is up to date.

The module is needed in Edision osmega for wireless lan

that was a mixup in opkg
fixed it with

opkg remove kernel-module-r8723bs --force-depends
opkg install kernel-module-r8723bs
