Step 9 (creating a layer) has a a similar link (same domain)

No idea. perhaps removal these?

Looked this over, and I'm writing notes to myself here to resolve this bug:

Step5: replace with http://git.openembedded.org/bitbake/tree/conf/bitbake.conf

Step9: replace with Layers section http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/2.3/bitbake-user-manual/bitbake-user-manual.html#layers and re-word from "...information on adding a layer" to "...information on layers."

ACK, also this patch should be backported at least to 2.3.

Once I hear from Richard that he's merged it into bitbake, I will mark this as RESOLVED.
