Description Darren Hart 2011-06-17 15:01:05 UTC
We currently have xserver-xf86-config to bbappend per BSP with a custom xorg.conf. This doesn't work with xserver-kdrive, for example. For the beagleboard I just bbappended xserver-kdrive to install an xorg.conf, but it seems to me that a very simple xorgconf.bb that does nothing more than install an xorg.conf file would be useful to all the BSPs, the various xserver recipes could depend on it, and we could bbappend it with nothing more than a FILESEXTRAPATHS prepend and a $MACHINE/xorg.conf file.

oe has an xserver-xorg-conf that appears to be what I'm looking for. Would it make sense to pull this into oe-core?

All the xserver-xf86-config recipe is install an xorg.conf file so I'm at a loss as to why its not able to fulfil the needs here.

Also, kdrive is heading for removal anyway so I don't think this worth spending more time on.
