the distrooverrides.bbclass define the following:
DISTRO_FEATURE_OVERRIDES ?= ""
DISTRO_FEATURE_OVERRIDES[doc] = "A space-separated list of <feature> entries. \
Each entry is added to OVERRIDES as df-<feature> if <feature> is in DISTRO_FEATURES."

both of these variables should be:
DISTRO_FEATURES_OVERRIDES

so, FEATURES i.s.o. FEATURE (plural vs. singular)
rated as minor since it only involves the empty default initialisation and the documentation;
but still a bug...

Fixed in "distrooverrides.bbclass: fix default configuration".
