Description Enrico Scholz 2017-08-15 14:45:11 UTC
When enabling ccache with

| INHERIT += "ccache"

the sanity check fails with

| Please install the following missing utilities: C Compiler (ccache gcc ),C++ Compiler (ccache g++ )
Comment 1 Shashwat Pandey 2017-11-10 02:15:03 UTC
Issue is not reproducing.
Environment setup:
    Branch	: Master
    Machine	: Ubuntu 16.04

Step followed:
    1)	Clone latest poky and checkout to master branch.
    2)	Enable sanity check in local.conf:
        	INHERIT += "ccache"
    3)	Bitbake core-image-minimal
    4) Buils is successful, no such following error encountered:
“Please install the following missing utilities: C Compiler (ccache gcc ),C++ Compiler (ccache g++ )”

Please provide more information if something is missing in the above steps and environment setup.

my 2 cents: Enrico, which distro are you using as host? Reading the mega-manual, on Fedora you need to install the ccache package. In general, try installing required packages required for oe-core/bitbake.

issue has been solved as a sideeffect of 5193ebca0ca8864404fc750def0e738417d104c7

The sanity check is somehow bogus after this commit because existence of 'ccache' will be checked, but not this of a working compiler. But I am ok with it because a working compiler can be assumed.
