In a couple of different failures recently, the failure to start or connect to the server for various reasons needs better messaging.

In one case I had started a bitbake in another window and then tried to start another task in a different window.

NOTE: Reconnecting to bitbake server...
NOTE: Retrying server connection...
NOTE: Reconnecting to bitbake server...
NOTE: Retrying server connection...
ERROR: Unable to connect to bitbake server, or start one

In another case I forgot to be in the BUILDDIR and got the following message:

NOTE: Retrying server connection... (Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/srv/sdc/builds/x32/bitbake/lib/bb/main.py", line 427, in setup_bitbake
    topdir, lock = lockBitbake()
  File "/srv/sdc/builds/x32/bitbake/lib/bb/main.py", line 494, in lockBitbake
    lockfile = topdir + "/bitbake.lock"
TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +: 'NoneType' and 'str'
)
ERROR: Unable to connect to bitbake server, or start one

These messages have been reworked and the exception is avoided. There is also a connection count to make the retries clearer.
