Description Patrick Ohly 2017-10-04 08:00:39 UTC
I just had the case where a recipe unintentially used "objcopy" (due to manually written upstream Makefile) instead of OBJCOPY=x86_64-refkit-linux-objcopy. That worked because objcopy is in HOSTTOOLS and thus was available via tmp-glibc/hosttools/objcopy.

Perhaps it should be possible to set HOSTTOOLS differently for different recipes? Then everything needed for bootstrapping (like objcopy) could be made available only to those recipes which are known to need it. Most normal target recipes would not get it.
