For my use case, I'd like to statically link in all shared objects for opkg (libcurl, libsolv, libgpme, etc).  This will allow me to basically run my opkg binary on any compatible arch and simplify bootstraping a system.

Can the configure script be extended to permit static linking of all shared libraries (not just libopkg)?
