following steps to reproduce the issue 1)download the core-image-sato-sdk-genericx86-64.hddimg image from following link http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/pub/yocto-2.5_M3.rc1/machines/genericx86-64/ 2)Make the bootable pendrive using this image. 3)Connect serial cabel Minnowboard Turbot board to host machine ( Any linux machine ) 4)Boot the Minnowboard Turbot board using bootable pendrive. 5)host machine check in /dev/ which device name serial connected. ( default is coming on ttyUSB0 ) 6)Using sudo -s minicom setup the serial connection. 7)after this serial connection is done successfully. but Minnowboard Turbot Login prompt is not coming on minicom serial connection. Only blank screen is coming.
For genericx86 we should not be assuming "minnowisms", regardless of whether its hddimg or wic.
Please try this on a NUC to check.
this issue is still reproducible on the ycoto build 2.6 M1 rc1 on Minnowboard Turbot.
Looks like a problem with your minicom configuration. I tried using 'screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200' and I don't see any problem. Please re-open if you can reproduce using screen.
Following are the steps for reproduce 1) download the image from following link https://autobuilder.yocto.io/pub/releases/yocto-2.6_M1.rc1/machines/genericx86-64/ 2) make bootable pendrive using this image 3) Connect serial cabel Minnowboard Turbot board to host machine ( Any linux machine )( I tried on Ubuntu 16.04 ) 4) Boot the Minnowboard Turbot board using bootable pendrive. 5) host machine check in /dev/ which device name serial connected. In Yocto 2.6 M2 rc1 release this issue is not reproducible. I have tested on MinnowMtourbot board.
After did this changes this bug is not reproducing. after adding getty entry manually in /etc/inittab as mentioned below : #1:12345:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty1 1:12345:respawn:/sbin/getty 115200 ttyS0
