If would be useful if we could have a list of (commit SHA, comments) so the charts can have annotations to explain changes.  For example, we could annotate the commit which causes a large increase in build time with "new gcc integrated".

https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/roles talks about how to do annotations on the charts.

I think we made some progress on this. Do we need to document it and add some annotations?
