Description pravin 2018-06-29 09:19:06 UTC
BUILD: 2.6 M1 rc1
COMMIT-ID: ddbd7b0cd6580ee26e11aa87e426fb294b372d64
ENVIRONMENT: NUC7
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

I am trying to play audio video files( .wav, .ogg, .mpg etc files ) in media player on NUC7 with x6-64-sato-sdk image
following are the steps to reproduce.
1) download the image from following link
http://centaurus01.png.intel.com:8080/workspace/andromeda02/yocto-2.6_M1.rc1/genericx86-64/core-image-sato-sdk-genericx86-64.hddimg
2) make bootable pendrive using this image.
3) boot the pendrive on NUC7 or MinowmaxMturbot.
4) after booting open the media player and play the audio or video file ( .wav,.ogg,.mpg etc )

Expected Result
EXPECTED OUTCOME: Media player should be OK with this action, it reproduce files correctly( decode correctly ).
Audio should be audible and video should be shown on the media player.

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
Media player does not play any audio format or any type of video, does not play files properly.
After selecting to play file, Media player does not respond.

Observation:
If we play audio video through command line, audio and video plays successfully.
Following is the command to play on the command line
aplay audio_file.wav
gst-aply video_file.ogv

This is happening because of gtkglsink element. This also fails:

gst-launch-1.0 videotestsrc ! glupload ! glfiltercube ! gtkglsink

gtk-play uses gtkglsink to render video and doesn't fall back when this fails. It used to work earlier because gtk plugin was disabled. Using gtksink works okay.

This issue is resolved in yocto 2.6 M2 RC1.
I have tested.
