I think the addition of the 3.0 kernel has become default before Bruce intended it too...
yes. this should definitely NOT be the default at this point. Now that I think about it we weren't protected by virtue of the recipe name, and we need to merge a change that forces 2.6.37 vs the old style change where we had to actually jump to a new recipe when it was available. I'll use this bug to force 2.6.37 vs fixing qemuppc, since that is not supposed to be a defect yet :)
This is resolved two ways now. We have a forced preference to 2.6.37 and the ppc image has been fixed in 3.0 to boot to the prompt.
From nightly build 20110730-1: http://autobuilder.pokylinux.org/nightly/20110730-1/machines/qemu/qemuppc/ the qemu minimal,sato,sato-sdk images all boot normally now and qemu kernel version is 2.6.37.6 (compare to nightly build 20110723-2,qemu kernel version is 3.0). next time when kernel version 3.0 is found and boot normally, will change the defect status to verified.
using git branch master newest to build qemuppc, qemuppc can boot and kernel version is now 3.0.3, so verify this bug. git info : 6c2b7beac3cd23ed44bd3e195c6360a0932876bf git branch : poky/master
