This recipe seriously needs refactoring before it reaches 1000 lines.

I suspect that expressing the content of the recipe in some Python data structures that generates the packaging rules would reduce the size and complexity of the recipe drastically.

For anyone who cares, I'm making progress towards machine-readable metadata in linux-firmware upstream so we can autogenerate the packaging.
