Description gangae 2019-06-15 07:14:14 UTC
While I try to build yocto project using Ubuntu 16.04, I get below error:

| /usr/bin/ld: mpn/.libs/invert_limb.o: relocation R_X86_64_PC32 against protected symbol `__gmpn_invert_limb_table' can not be used when making a shared object

GCC - I tried to downgrade from 5 to 4.8, still the same issue.

Log snippet:

Which branch/revision of the project are you trying to build?
Comment 2 Richard Purdie 2019-06-19 14:35:01 UTC
FWIW I had to go back to daisy and dora to find gmp 5.1.1 which suggests you're using very old code which isn't likely to work on a 16.04 system that didn't exist when those releases were made. Its also well outside our support window.
Comment 3 Randy MacLeod 2019-06-20 14:40:57 UTC
The version referenced is obsolete and is no longer supported by the Yocto project. It's possible that can help on the mailing but you may need commercial support for this type of issue.
