I inherited a meta layer that was originally used with Jethro. One of the recipes in this layer has all of the source code in the files sub-directory and uses file:// to point to the directories containing the source code. file://source file://include When running "devtool modify example-recipe" the following error occurs: WARNING: No source unpacked to S - either the example-recipe recipe doesn't use any source or the correct source directory could not be determined The workspace ends up for example: workspace/sources/recipe/include/header.h workspace/sources/recipe/oe-local-files/include/header.h workspace/sources/recipe/oe-local-files/source/Makefile workspace/sources/recipe/oe-local-files/source/source.c workspace/sources/recipe/oe-local-files/.gitignore workspace/sources/recipe/source/Makefile workspace/sources/recipe/source/source.c And the files are broken symlinks that point to oe-local-files but ignore the directory structure. workspace/sources/recipe/source/source.c -> oe-local-files/source.c devtool is extremely useful for a quick change and using devtool deploy-target to copy the application to the target so I was hoping there was some workaround or maybe someone can point where in devtool it unpacks and moves the files to see if I can fix it.
