This is not a build race, this is the -fno-common default in gcc 10:

The fix should be (untested):

We already have those commits in linux-yocto.

We just need Kevin @ Wind River to bump the version in the reference BSP once it has been boot tested.

If he can't get to it this week, I can bump the SRCREVs based on compile tests.
