This worked ok on my ubuntu 18.04 system so it looks like it may be changes in 20.04?
Patch on the list. Would be much appreciated if QA could validate that it solves the problem, as I don't have a Ubuntu 20.04 to hand.
I was able to reproduce the problem on the second attempt. The first attempt timed out after 60 seconds: $ bitbake -u taskexp -g core-image-full-cmdline Timeout while waiting for a reply from the bitbake server (60s) I applied your patch on; $ git log --oneline -3 e163dfecb3 (HEAD -> ross-taskexp) taskexp: update for GTK API changes c6bc20857c build-appliance-image: Update to master head revision e9f2c01157 ref-manual: examples: libxpm: add relative path to .inc and the taskexp feature works now on my ubu-20.04 laptop.
verified by applying following patch: https://lists.openembedded.org/g/openembedded-core/message/142756 on following commits: yocto-3.2_M3.rc1- c6bc20857c yocto-3.2_M3.rc2 - 0a243cd212 taskexp feature works now works on ubuntu-20.04 .

Same issue is observed in yocto-3.1.4.rc1. Applying same patch works Patch needs to be backported to dunfell as well.
