Description kenth.eriksson 2020-09-23 06:17:05 UTC
Tried to build Xilinx machine zcu102-zynqmp for release zeus, but it dies with Signals.SIGSYS. Build machine is gentoo, looks like the error message is from utils.py when doing "file -b". Error message seen:

bb.fatal("Fatal errors occurred in subprocesses:\n%s" % msg)

This is likely due to a seccomp patch to file. You need the upgraded version of pseudo deals with seccomp. An alternative fix would be to rebuild 'file' with seccomp disabled.
Comment 2 kenth.eriksson 2020-09-24 08:26:02 UTC
emerging sys-apps/file without seccomp resolved the issue.

Is this the commit in pseudo that resolves it?

That looks like the right patch to me but I've CCed Richard to take a second look. Have you tried to cherry-pick it back to zeus?

If you can confirm that using a newer, officially (rather than community) supported branch:
   https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/Releases
works with the default gentoo 'file', then we can close this bug.

I encountered the bug when trying to build Xilinx meta layer, and this layer currently only supports zeus. I have not observed the issue with dunfell for other layers.

Works for Kenth.
