Description akuster 2020-10-05 15:40:23 UTC
Starting gnome terminal will not start with some recipes.

Its something in python3native.

try bitbake libxml2 -c devshell and I see this warning:
WARNING: libxml2-2.9.10-r0 do_devshell: Terminal gnome is supported but did not start

and Xterm is run instead.

what is causing this issue is the

export _PYTHON_SYSCONFIGDATA_NAME="_sysconfigdata"

    python3: upgrade to 3.7.2

strange no one else is seeing this.
Comment 2 akuster 2020-10-30 20:45:07 UTC
well, I can work around this for my recipe by adding

_PYTHON_SYSCONFIGDATA_NAME[unexport] = "1"

I think we need something like http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?h=master-next&id=4a42d6907ab3fb1e890b82c2ac9427b742ad5a4b but adapted for PYTHON_SYSCONFIGDATA instead of PYTHONHOME

There are patches in master that may fix this. need to check.
