Description Michael Opdenacker 2021-07-29 17:30:48 UTC
Greetings

According to https://www.yoctoproject.org/community/mailing-lists/, the https://matrix.to/#/#yoctoproject:matrix.org Matrix channel is supposed to mirror the discussions on #yocto on irc.libera.chat.

I'm on both, but only the messages posted on Matrix seem to reach irc.libera.chat, and in the reverse direction (irc -> Matrix), only a tiny fraction of the messages go through, and they come in bursts, sometimes received tens of minutes after being posted.

I'd say that either we fix this bridge, or we stop advertising it on the website, advising people to stick to IRC.

Michael.

Hi Michael,

according to the topic in #libera-matrix, the bridge should be working. I've looked a bit through my history on both sides and have not found a lost message.

On 2021-07-29 between 12:36 CEST and 12:46 CEST, there was a bridge restart, but I don't see lost messages in that timeframe. Do you have a specific example of a message that was not bridged to matrix?

Thanks,
Jan

Closing this bug.
Thanks to other users testing the bridge, it turned out there's something wrong with matrix.bootlin.com which I was using to connect to Matrix.
If I use my matrix.org account, everything is always perfectly in sync.
We're investigating this on Bootlin's side, but everything else rocks.
Thanks to you all for your help!
Michael.
