The links in this section: https://docs.yoctoproject.org/dev-manual/common-tasks.html#making-images-more-secure are seriously out of date, and it seems like there should be an entire section (perhaps even a separate doc?) devoted to security issues.
Totally agree. I'll try to set aside some time to work on this topic. This will take a substantial amount of research time though. Postponed to 4.2 M1
Bulk move of 5.1 M4 to 5.2 M2 as approved by AlexB.
Bulk move of bugs I am assigned to from Milestone 5.2M4 to 5.3M1.
The original link is dead :/, but I assume Robert was talking about https://docs.yoctoproject.org/4.1/dev-manual/common-tasks.html#making-images-more-secure. I've sent a patch to remove these links (which is part of a series to move the security related docs to its own manual): https://lore.kernel.org/r/20260106-security-manual-v1-0-500fe611a4d0@bootlin.com
The security manual section was added with https://git.yoctoproject.org/yocto-docs/commit/?id=3dc9307e429a0eca40b5e49dacffd04bff99222d and https://git.yoctoproject.org/yocto-docs/commit/?id=38a324d2d3e171c26eeb2120383e3a04d70a9c99. And the old links were removed with https://git.yoctoproject.org/yocto-docs/commit/?id=68851e0256fade849feece3a359a5d4892ab4828. Closing
