The data displayed on the layer index is not up-to-date. 
For example, https://layers.openembedded.org/layerindex/branch/master/recipes/?q=openssl
The layer index show openssl recipe to be 1.1.1k, however, checking the oe-core repository, the recipe version is actually 3.0.0

Our (WindRiver) internal layer index is displaying the correct information.

I believe Michael is working on updating the code; I have at least fixed the issues I found that were preventing parsing from working with honister / master.

This works now so resolving. If you see a problem with the layer index please open this or a new bug.
