A few issues was observed on the media player during the manual testing on yp-3.3.4.rc1 QA execution.
The issues seems to be happening on .ogv files with audio and .wav files.

Issues:
a. Press << to -0.50x causes player to pause the play
 - Steps:
   1. Pressing << even further doesn't override the occurring failure
   2. Pressing || makes the player replay the file from beginning but the -0.50x value still retains
      - This means that, during the replay, if you press << even once it will cause the failure to happen
      - With the value now being at -1.00x, if you move the seeker to any point, the failure will happen too
   3. Skipping to the next .wav file resets the << value being displayed but if << is pressed again, it will continue on whatever value that you left on the previous file, causing the failure
      - This condition doesn't happen on >> button

b. A combination of << and >>| causes the player to crash
 - Steps:
   1. Add all 5 .wav files on the player
   2. Press << to -0.50x (which causes the previous issue) during the first track
   3. Press >>| to the end of the playlist (.wav file #5)
   4. Press << once, the media player app will crash
 - This issue is also occurring on a playlist of files from the manual test files/video directory.
 - This issue doesn't seem to happen on .ogg and .mp3 audio files.

The << -0.50x bug was previously observed on previously releases (not entirely sure which release was that) not too long ago, but no thorough investigation was done as it didn't seem to cause any other major issues.

As for the crashing part, this is the first time that it was found.

Not entirely sure how long ago it has happened..
As mentioned in my previous reply to Anuj, it was seen to have happen before but no crashing occurred.

This is not specific to hardknott, I was able to reproduce it on honister/master as well.

I tested this with current master and could see the crash. I was not able to reproduce with gst-play-1.0 though so probably gtk-play related.

This issue is still observed in 5.1.rc1.

Observation:
1. Press play button to play. Pressing << to -1.5x 
2. Pressing >> to 0.5x causing the seek bar to skipped to different part of the video. (from 0:08 skipped to 0:23 / 0.23 skipped to 0:42)

Latest QA on 5.2_M3.rc1 : 

Format of mp3 and ogg managed to forward/backward/increase/decrease speed normally without issue. 

But still facing same issue on .wav video file.
