[Summary]
The image was able to boot but the icon of all applications are displayed as a generic icon and not loaded properly, except for Calibrate Touchscreen & L3afpad.

[Test target]
NUC7

[Steps to reproduce]
1. Boot up the target image on NUC7/qemu
2. Check the icon once image booted up to GUI.

I had a look at an M3 image and it didn't show this. A locally build qemu image with M4 did seem to have icon issues though so this looks like a regression between M3 and M4 and is visible within qemu as well?
Comment 3 Teoh Jay Shen 2022-04-13 06:56:08 UTC
This issue is not there in M3, as we have tested it. It should be a regression between M3 and M4. Icons are not loaded properly as well for qemux86-64 image.

Bisecting this, it looks like it was introduced with:

commit 131b143b6ea37963a0380975718cbf8420e5b87f
adwaita-icon-theme: upgrade 41.0 -> 42.0
