Description Ian Martin 2011-09-22 10:08:26 UTC
intltool-update, a perl script, is executed by the shell instead of native perl.

also affects
 intltool-prepare
 intltool-merge
 intltool-extract

this causes failures in at least:
avahi-0.6.30

replacing

!#/path/to/sysroot/native/.../usr/bin/perl-native/perl

with
#!/usr/bin/env /path/to/sysroot/native/.../usr/bin/perl-native/perl

fixes the problem on:

yocto 1.1 beta

running

bitbake core-image-basic

host

Centos 5.7 x86_64 kernel 2.6.18

What version of poky are you working with, as I believe that we currently do use #!/usr/bin/env nativeperl which covers this issue. This fix was done pretty recently, around the end of August, so the beta might not have it.

Please confirm this with edison branch from git, this will be the 1.1 release.

The bug was in the poky beta tarball.

Rested with the edison branch rev 41c564fe605fa4685fd27b1721e3424ac8a96db1

This problem is no longer present.

Thanks
