Patchtest is currently only fully compatible with openembedded-core/poky. There is interest in having it work smoothly with meta-openembedded and other layers, and some code already exists in the test suite to facilitate checking of target layers etc. Improve the patchtest codebase so that it can be used with the wider Yocto Project.
