Description Nick Owens 2024-01-31 22:03:24 UTC
when built with elfutils, systemd (specifically systemd-coredump) will try to dlopen libelf/libdw for symbolization of information from the core.

https://github.com/systemd/systemd/blob/main/src/shared/elf-util.c#L90

the systemd recipe does not pull in libelf/libdw via RDEPENDS or RRECOMMENDS, so these do not end up in the final image for systemd-coredump's use.

i was carrying this around in a bbappend, but i don't know if that's correct.

PACKAGECONFIG[elfutils] = "-Delfutils=true,-Delfutils=false,elfutils,libelf libdw"

I think adding it via reccommends might be appropriate here.

PACKAGECONFIG[elfutils] = "-Delfutils=true,-Delfutils=false,,,libelf libdw"

Here is PACKAGECONFIG syntax for completeness - https://docs.yoctoproject.org/ref-manual/variables.html?highlight=build+deps+f1#term-PACKAGECONFIG
