Description Nitin Kamble 2011-09-28 09:19:25 UTC
The linux-korg.bb recipe is located here:

http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/experimental/meta-x32/

When building it is giving this error:

| ERROR. meta data not found, check upstream repo for tags and branches

Looks like the kernel repo needs to have tag/commits for it to work well.

THanks,
Nitin

Bruce, this recipe looks just like the one in meta-kernel-dev with the exception of the SRCURI. This is supposed to work without all the branching in the regular korg trees right?
Comment 2 Bruce Ashfield 2011-09-28 10:05:20 UTC
It is. It looks like the fact that meta isn't there (and it ok), isn't being detected.
I had this recipe on my 'to check' list for the 1.1 release. I'll use this defect to
track that time.

I've reproduced this now. Fix is pending.

The fix for this is simple, and I'll update the meta-kernel-dev with this shortly. With the
re-factored variables, a korg based recipe must set:

YOCTO_KERNEL_META_DATA=

To clear the requirement that the fetched repo contain meta-data. Then things will build.
So there's nothing to fix for this one.

Bruce,
Thanks for the update. Now I am testing it with the empty var.

Now the kernel recipe is building without any failure.

Thanks,
