Thanks Amr,
Are you able and willing to send a patch?
Comment 2 Ross Burton 2024-06-10 15:57:30 UTC
Joshua: did you have a script to automatically sync the licenses with the SPDX index? Or am I just imagining that.
Comment 3 Joshua Watt 2024-06-10 16:16:20 UTC
I don't. Maybe you are thinking of the SPDX JSON license list? I don't have a script for that, but it can (and should) be synced from upstream.

We could probably write a script that pulls licenses using the JSON file data, e.g. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/spdx/license-list-data/v3.24.0/json/licenses.json

This is partially solved with: https://lists.openembedded.org/g/openembedded-core/topic/patch_2_2_licenses_update/106918428

Some of the listed licenses are marked as deprecated, and I don't want the automated script to pull deprecated licenses, so they might have to be added manually.

I also don't pull the exceptions, because in general I don't think OE handles them

Fixed in e9c1f48af10ccb58251ecc7e041babb99b94d6df, hopefully.

Amr, please re-open if there are license texts that you still need.
