ffmpeg on armv5 and armv7 fails to build with latest binutils 2.43, but aarch64/armv8 is fine
reverting binutils 2.43 update also resolved the issue

it fails compiling asm code with lots of repeated lines like this:

Set LICENSE_FLAGS_ACCEPTED="commercial" and MACHINE="qemuarm" and bitbake ffmpeg to reproduce.
