Description Michael Halstead 2024-12-11 23:14:52 UTC
Docs builds are using the host python when buildtools are required and failing like this.

    subprocess.run(["git", "show", "yocto-%s" % release_series[activereleases[0]]], capture_output=True, check=True)
File "/usr/lib64/python3.6/subprocess.py", line 423, in run
    with Popen(*popenargs, **kwargs) as process:
TypeError: __init__() got an unexpected keyword argument 'capture_output'

https://valkyrie.yoctoproject.org/#/builders/34/builds/68

We could exclude older workers from docs builds or alter the build to make sure buildtools is used.

May be able to fix code to use older python syntax.
Comment 2 Antonin Godard 2024-12-23 11:15:35 UTC
Fixed by commit: https://git.yoctoproject.org/yocto-docs/commit/?id=28850c974a3896895bc921c094071523218d6d07.

As suggested, I changed the calls to make them backward-compatible.

Closing!
